The Road

I once mentioned that A23 (Ella-Wellawaya) is one of the most scenic roads in Sri Lanka. Then my friend Sbarrkum mentioned that he likes Beragala – Wellawaya stretch even more. I also had to agree with him.

I took the above picture on the same road closer to Beragala.

I hope it will give a glimpse of this very scenic road to all of you.

Even though I was gone for a week, I've missed you... Have you been out-of-town also?

Beautiful picture... That tree is almost in the road, isn't it????

Hi Betsy,
There are many trees on this road like that..almost on the road.
Yep lot of things happened during this month and I could not post the way I used to do. I was out of the country for sometime and then my sister's wedding was held last week. So it was busy month :)
I will check out your blog soon. I missed it too :)

The picture gives a great impression of this scenic road. It seems to be beautiful!

Yeah, I like both those roads; there're a lot of cool wayside attractions in them that interest me.

There is something wonderful about narrow roads surrounded by nature. An that tree is fantastic! I find it hard to take photos of trees with out wires, houses or cars in the way. There is a road here, but it is so earthy that I like the photo, very much.

What a beautiful gateway to the enchanting vista on the other side! Were there showers beyond the curve in the road?

Great capture!!

Gallicissa,
Yes, both have plenty of wayside attractions.

Tammie,
Yes, narrow roads are my favorites too. And this one is one of the best!

George,
Those are the same mountains I mentioned here.

Amaris,
Not immediately after the curve but it was raining towards the bluish mountain region.

Anjana,
You are most welcome! :)

Rajesh,
Glad you like it.

Thanks all for your wonderful comments!!

Beautiful picture. The general area surrounding Haputhale might be the most beautiful in Sri Lanka. :D

Good to read you again! and what a photo. I love the tree :)
I am planing my trip in Dec (My heart is already fluttering) and I will be spending most of the time up in them hills. I can't wait to see some of the way points you have shown us.
I will be learning a lot about tea but from what I hear, it will mostly be ground work, like the path of the tea leaves :)
I will also have an interview with the University near Kandy (Peradeniya) so I can get a feel of what they are looking for.
