Bathalegala from Alagalla

This photo was taken on the way to Alagalla. The prominent book shaped rock in the middle is known as Bible Rock and the local name is Bathalegala. The same rock could be seen clearly as you go through Balana Pass on the way from Colombo to Kandy.

This is another beautiful scene from the mountains of Sri Lanka. Bathalegala is certainly distinctive. Thanks for sharing this view with us.

Beautiful scenery! Wonder why all these rock names are inspired by potato names, like Chavie points out. =D

Right now I can't even imagine so much green.
It looks wonderful to my 'desert eyes' :)

Yeah beautiful scenery! I must visit all the places once I get back to Sri Lanka :)

Me-shak,
You should be there with Sinhalaya Travels when they do their next journey :)

Betsy,
Thanks! The baby is fine but she is giving us sleepless nights :)

George,
You are welcome. I'll post a closer picture of Bathalegala later.

Chavie,
Yep next time we will drag you guys where ever you are :D

Loshini,
Yes low clouds, are beautiful when they hover on top mountains.

Rainfield,
You are most welcome brother!

Harumi,
No idea and neither of them look like potatoes or sweet potatoes. :)

Nicole,
Time you have a short vacation somewhere in a jungle hide-out to have an eyeful of greenery :)

Betchai,
Thanks a lot for the comments!

Anjana,
Yep, I too can't think of any other potato rock right now. When are you planning to visit here next?

Thanks all for your wonderful comments!
