Suspension Bridge No.2

I posted about a suspension bridge (sangili palama) some time back too. This time, I am bringing a similar foot bridge but smaller than the earlier one. This bridge was found near Bamabarakiri Ella waterfall. The good thing about this bridge is that it allows you to cross the stream as well as to take some good pictures of the fall from the bridge.

More pictures of the bridge and the fall is uploaded here.

wow that's nice suspension bridge K! looking at the pictures, I just wonder, is there another waterfall just below the bridge, or is that Bambarakiri Ella itself? :)

Hi Chavie,
I love that 'sangili palama'.
Below the bridge, it is the same Bamabarakiri Ella..the lower part. When you look below the bridge, you will see this :)

The suspension bridge is over-loaded!!! Better be careful of the resonance frequency. lol.

The view from this bridge must be magnificent, judging from your pictures. Thanks for sharing this beautiful place with us.

Whoa, that's quite a bridge. I think I'd have my heart in my throat the whole time I crossed. Makes for a heck of an image though.

oh, it looks scary to me, maybe because it seems to me there are a lot of people on the bridge.

Rainfield,
Even when only one person walks over that it starts to vibrate..So i didnt know how it felt when 20 people went over it :)

George,
The view is superb. For e.g. this picture of the falls was taken from the bridge :)

Robin,
Yep that would be a good experience for you if you have not tried similar suspension bridge before :)

Betchai,
It is perfectly safe. But I too did not like to see that many people on the bridge!

Thanks all for your comments!

Thanks for sharing, as it gives me a little of the essence of actually being there.

that is a lot of people on that bridge! I would prefer one or two at a time, ha. I so enjoy bouncing a wee bit as I cross bridges like this. Thank you for sharing and for your visits to my blog.

How lovely. I think I would be nervous walking on the bridge! I always enjoy your pictures.

Salitype,
Yep you can take a longer route too.. but to find a place to jump over the stream you may have to take a pretty long route :)

Tammie,
You are welcome and yep I too not prefer 1 at a time on those bridges :)

Sunny,
I'm glad you like the pictures :)

Thanks all for your comments!!

Scary! You would never catch me on that bridge.

Looks kind of scary to me, but I guess it's strong enough to support all those people on it! By the way, thanks for visiting my Watery Wednesday shot of the sailboat. I took it with a zoom lens right off the coastline around the corner from the Golden Gate Bridge...

Nicole said...

Cool shot, but a very scary bridge!
:)

Kirigalpoththa said...

Stine in Ontario,
lol..Do not worry it is quite safe up there :)

Linnea,
Yep the bridge is stronger than what you really see. The two bridges are quite contrasting yet used the same principle of physics isnt it :) I like your photo of the Golden Gate very much!

Nicole,
I think it is the angle of the photo that really makes it scary :)

Thanks all for your comments!

i remember crossing a swinging bridge as a child. it hung over the Big Sandy River in my hometown. i loved running across its uneven platform and making it swing. this is a great capture. hope all is well.

Michelle,
Yes I too felt the same when crossing this bridge. Even the smallest movement is magnified and you feel a considerable swing in the bridge.
Thanks a lot for your comments!
